THE POSITION
Keyera is looking for a Senior Operator who can bring an advanced skillset to our facility operations and be a key stakeholder for terminals projects groups. The Senior Operator will represent the terminals in providing input and expertise for all terminal projects and MOC’s. Reaching out to the operating groups as needed and communicating input back to Project Managers. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.
Responsibilities
•Participate in reviews, audits and field observations
•Participate and own MOC’s at terminals
•Daily engagement with the operating staff to support planning for projects.
•Sets a standard for teamwork by offering assistance to all levels
•Train facility operators in new project operating procedures
•Active involvement in the implementation of new training programs
•Participate in Emergency Exercises
•This role will support multiple terminals within the LI business unit.
•Maintain an open dialog with the Lead Operator on the status of the Terminals
•Provide operations input to project team for key project deliverables
•Participate in Project kick off meetings and weekly project meetings
•Provide input to project weekly and monthly meetings
•Take responsibility and own MOC’s
•Support MOC process within terminals and provide input
•Provide input to project team on specific site design requirements
•Provide subject matter expertise to Contruction groups on site
•Build operating procedures for new projects and complete training for all staff
•Provide commission plans for MOC’s and new projects
•Act as relief for the Lead Operator in their absence
•Responsible for PSSR, PCCR’s, and Punch lists sign offs.
•Ensures that communication plans are developed and implemented in a manner which ensures internal and external audiences are informed in a timely and accurate manner
•Collaboration with facility operations group, shared services and project management teams
•Knowledgeable in Keyera’s PDS program and implementation
•Maintain a professional demeanor when engaging with customers and external parties
•Participate in the development of new business opportunities at the terminals.
•Seeks support and direction in areas that the individual lacks and communicates with appropriate stakeholder.
Qualifications
•10-15 years' work experience in a similar role within terminal operations.
•Ideal candidate for this position will have certification as a Fourth-Class Power Engineer.
•Able to demonstrate deep understanding of MOC’s and Project Delivery.
•A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
•Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
•Has a demonstrated ability to perform successfully in a multi-disciplined work team environment.
•Demonstrate diligence in following processes and procedures.
•Follow through on commitments as an engaged contributor.
•Actively guard against complacency and challenge the status quo.
•Strong team player with the ability to listen, learn, and share knowledge.
•Self-starter who can work independently with a minimum of supervision.
•Possess proven communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
•Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
•Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.
