Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and credentialed Site Safety Officer to oversee safety compliance across active trenching and transmission line construction sites throughout Long Island. This role will support the Propel NY Energy initiative—an ambitious clean energy infrastructure project led by the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and New York Transco.

The work involves underground and submarine transmission line installation, excavation, and substation upgrades designed to strengthen New York’s electric transmission backbone. The ideal candidate will have strong trenching safety experience and a deep understanding of utility work, excavation protocols, and regulatory compliance in high-risk environments.

Propel NY Energy is a major transmission initiative to modernize and expand the power grid across Long Island, New York City, and Westchester County. Led by NYPA and New York Transco, this project delivers clean energy transmission infrastructure, including underground and submarine transmission lines and newly upgraded substations. The initiative supports job creation, system reliability, and the delivery of offshore wind and renewable energy to the statewide grid.
