SOLAR AND HOME STORAGE TECHNICIAN

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Technician to join our team. Though experience in the field is ideal, we can offer training if the candidate has crossover skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems. This role will require a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and safety protocols. The Solar Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that solar installations are completed efficiently and effectively. A active California State Journeyman Card or enrolled in a state certified trainee program with a state trainee card is required at all times.

Duties

- Install solar panels on residential and commercial rooftops in accordance with industry standards.

- Conduct site assessments to determine the best placement for solar panels and equipment.

- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation.

- Utilize power tools and equipment safely while adhering to all safety regulations on construction sites.

- Perform electrical connections, including low voltage wiring, ensuring compliance with local codes.

- Troubleshoot issues with solar energy systems using voltmeters and other diagnostic tools.

- Collaborate with electricians and other tradespeople to complete projects on time.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are accounted for.

Skills

- Proficiency in using power tools and equipment relevant to solar panel installation.

- Experience as a electrician or in related electrical work is highly desirable.

- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for effective installation processes.

- Familiarity with low voltage systems and their applications within solar technology.

- Experience working on construction sites, understanding site safety protocols.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.

- Physical ability to work on roofs and in various weather conditions as required by job duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $33.00 per hour
