General Summary
The Sr. CAD Technician is responsible for designing, drafting, and performing CAD drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The Sr. CAD Technician will provide land surveying knowledge and required procedures to assist in the planning, implementation, correction, and quality review to complete assigned tasks.
As the Sr. CAD Technician, you will work alongside our dedicated team of client managers, architects, engineers, and quality reviews to complete assigned tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities
•Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD productions, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points.
•Assist project managers with scope, schedules, and budgets for land surveying projects.
•Assist in the preparation of the survey proposal.
•Perform QA/QC checks of collected survey data and field procedures.
•Coordinate and work with Survey Supervisor/LS and Tech support for field crews and other office staff, expected growth to lead a team.
•Interpret survey field notes and sketches to incorporate field survey data to create and update Right-of-Way, Record of Surveys, ALTA, and topographic drawings and DTMs using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D).
•Prepare base and detailed drawings by project requirements
•Maintain requirements of FDOT, OTIC< Local County and City CAD Standards, Standard Drawings, and Location and Design Manuals.
•Process survey data and import data into MicroStation and AutoCAD.
•Coordinate with other engineers and surveyors on project requirements.
•Estimate the number of sheets, contract drawings, and production time required for the design manager's review.
•Ensures overall consistency, quality, technical accuracy, and design on projects.
•Other tasks assigned by the Director of Land Production.
Daily Routines are as Follows
•Developed engineering drawings and conceptual plans and exhibited for various projects in size and complexity.
•Plans, research, and produces contract drawings based on constraints defined by the project engineer, review agencies, and client needs.
•Worked with close guidance and supervision on tasks for large and small projects in a team environment on various water infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater plants, pump stations, water supply, distribution, etc.
Qualifications and Education Requirments
•An associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in Engineering, Land Survey, CAD, or related field is required.
•6+ years of CAD-specific work experience in land surveying or civil engineering.
•A demonstrated general knowledge of survey, mapping, utilities, and engineering are desired.
•Experiene with 3D Laser Scanning; LiDAR, GNSS/GPS (specifically Trimble); robotic total station; TBC/Trimble Access; Autodesk Civil 3D; Google Earth Pro; Bluebeam Revu; MicorSurvey StarNet
•Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking and staking calculations, and surface models.
•Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks, project coordination, and interaction with other design services.
•Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills; team-oriented.
•Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.
•Self-motivated, project-driven responsibilities and ability to complete work unsupervised.
•Have significant working CAD experience, have a background in Land Surveying (or a directly related field like civil engineering and worked with existing conditions base files)
•Able to perform and/or review such technical procedures and knowledge of topographic, boundary, and route surveys and not limited to other survey functions as assigned.
•Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively under pressure of deadlines.

Availability/Schedule
Availability and schedule required for this role are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
Travel
Travel to local career fairs and conferences will be required.
