Overview
Education: Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting is preferred.
Experience: This position requires 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
Generally responsible for performing all aspects for a complete design of complex structural design assignments. This work will be performed at our Memphis Office.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
•Prepares moderately difficult engineering and construction drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.
•Familiarity with and utilizing discipline design and drafting standards.
•Review and comprehend structural calculations and equipment drawings.
•Performs related engineering support tasks, which are not completely standardized or prescribed.
•Assist with cost and material estimates.
•References information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc., and interfaces with engineers as required.
•Supports field assignments as required.
•Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
Qualifications
•Knowledge of AutoCAD, CADWorx, Plant3D, 3D design and modeling.
•Knowledge of 3D scanning, field verification.
•Knowledge and application of structural materials.
•Knowledge of structural design standards and codes.
•Knowledge of good design practices for structural systems.
•Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
