Department Overview

Electric Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity to our customers and is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's Electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

PG&E is building its long-term strategy for Substation Operations and seeing the following Responsibilities:

Develop key metrics and dashboards used to monitor business performance

Collate and pull together information from disparate data sources to support operations

Perform data analysis that support critical product and business decisions

Support the Workforce Planning and Strategists to develop project plans and a strategic road-map

Support PG&E Operations Tracking and Reporting

Support Incident Investigations

Support tracking, summarizing, and reporting of strategy work-streams

Facilitate coordination across internal subject-matter experts (SMEs)

Create tools to visualize data and other key concepts

Lead information management process

Provide strategic support for strategy meetings

Process Map Organizations and determine gaps between existing organization and future design

Develop Power Automate, Power Apps , SQL, Power BI applications

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $19.91 to $36.42


Minimum Qualifications:

Earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Social Studies, Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts or related field

Students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship) or Master’s degree

Valid drivers license to drive around PG&E service territory as needed to visit field offices


Desired:

Advanced skills in PowerBI, R, and Python

Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics

Proven ability to solve problems in nonstandard and innovative ways

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Proficiency with tools and methods for project management and continuous improvement

Organizational Strategy or experience in setting up an organization

Business Strategy with a goal towards

Experience in operations, constructions or a similar environment

Good at formulation alternatives and articulating the benefits and drawbacks of each option
