Position Summary

We’re looking for a Supply Chain Director who thrives in a high-impact, high-accountability environment and leads from the front. At our ESOP-driven AECO companies, every team member is an owner, and we expect our leaders to act accordingly. You will be instrumental in driving our commitment to delivering innovative solutions and exceeding client expectations by overseeing the full spectrum of supply chain operations—procurement, logistics, vendor management, and inventory—with a keen understanding of our job shop environment and engineered-to-order processes. This includes the ability to drive and utilize multiple ERPs to optimize efficiency and data visibility. You'll achieve this while rolling up your sleeves and working alongside a small, agile team.

This role demands someone who can operate strategically but isn’t afraid to get hands-on, especially in navigating the complexities of manufacturing-oriented supply chains including unique challenges related to just-in-time delivery for large-scale projects and managing specialized long-lead materials. Key Responsibilities Hands-On Leadership

•

Lead by example—supporting, coaching, and collaborating directly with a small team.

•

Serve as the point of escalation for supply issues while actively helping resolve them.

•

Cultivate a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and transparency.

Procurement and Vendor Management

•

Source and manage critical vendors direct, indirect and MRO supplies and materials, subcontractors, and material suppliers for AECO projects.

•

Negotiate contracts with a focus on value, reliability, and flexibility.

•

Implement supplier evaluation frameworks and nurture long-term, trusted relationships.

Project-Centric Logistics and Fulfillment

•

Coordinate just-in-time delivery of materials and equipment.

•

Minimize downtime through proactive planning and alternate sourcing.

•

Leverage technology to improve visibility and coordination.

Inventory and Material Flow

•

Collaborate to establish inventory systems that balance working capital and readiness.

•

Introduce processes for reordering and usage tracking.

•

Evaluate and improve warehouse or yard operations.

Strategy and Continuous Improvement

•

Design supply chain strategies aligned with AECO timelines and cost targets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks unique to large-scale project execution.

•

Build lean, scalable systems within an ESOP model, continuously refining processes to maximize efficiency and profitability for all employee-owners.

•

Lead process improvements and digitization efforts.

Requirements

•

8+ years of experience, ideally job shop and engineer to order manufacturing. - Proven success in small to mid-size companies. - Deep understanding of manufacturing project lifecycles. - Proficient with ERP/project management systems. - Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. - Ability to balance strategy and execution.

MBA

Experience in an ESOP or employee-owned company. - Familiarity with lean construction or prefabrication. - Comfortable managing both materials and digital systems. - Ability to scale systems pragmatically.
