Charter Dura-Bar and Charter Aarrowcast is seeking a Supply Chain & Operations Planning Manager!

This role will involve multi-site supervision and travel to Shawano, WI, and Woodstock, IL sites.

This role will support strategic business goals by managing the procurement, planning, logistics, and inventory control functions. The Supply Chain & Operations Planning Manager will direct Sales and Operations Planning process and scheduling activities to ensure the customer service objectives are fulfilled at the lowest total cost.


What we're looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related degree
Five plus years’ experience in a planning or purchasing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated ability to create, modify and improve S&OP processes across multiple functions
Strong demonstrated leadership, judgment, and decision skills, with direct supervisory experience in leading and developing a high-performing team
Proven success in value-added planning and purchasing of products and services in a manufacturing environment across multiple locations
Strong contract negotiation and interpretation skills
Demonstrated ability to build and develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers
Proficient in the advanced features of Microsoft Office software products


Preferred experience:

Master’s Degree (MBA, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent preferred)
Eight plus years’ experience in a planning or purchasing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Planning and Scheduling experience with both continuous and discrete manufacturing, with emphasis on continuous manufacturing
CPM, CPIM, or APICS Certification
Technical knowledge of metals manufacturing, products, and processes
Continuous Improvement experience – Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience


What you'll focus on:

Oversee production planning, scheduling and procurement teams at Dura-Bar and Dura-Bar Metal Services to effectively meet customer and business needs
Lead the key business stakeholders through the monthly S&OP process across the business through optimization of the division’s production capacity and costs while providing superior on-time delivery, inventory control and best-cost manufacturing
Metric development and performance management spanning annual planning and process health via hierarchy of metrics, connecting long-term strategic objectives to daily management systems
Manage strategic sourcing and supplier development for raw materials, capital equipment, production/ maintenance supplies, transportation, and other services to obtain best value for the business
Partner with supply chain partners to increase service performance while lowering total cost and waste. Ensure efficient processes around forecasting and procurement of material and supplies.
Lead the negotiation of capital purchases to support project, cost, and growth objectives
Manage and optimize inventory levels, both raw and finished, to effectively balance customer service, total cost, and economic profit objectives. Manage the disposition of at risk and obsolete inventory
Develop/oversee the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process of balancing demand and supply by bridging disconnects between strategic plan, business plans, and demand/operations plans.
Drive Continuous Improvement of scheduling methods and tools. Look for innovative ways to extend capacity and improve uptime and productivity via scheduling and sequencing, balancing inventory vs. flexibility/setups, and working closely with manufacturing, maintenance and engineering functions to plan for scheduled downtime
Lead and optimize inbound and outbound freight and transportation functions to meet customer service expectations while minimize handling activities and optimizing total cost
Develop and lead a strong team of capable and effective supply chain professionals

The annual hiring range for this position is: 139,200 USD-$174,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
