Demir Engineering Ltd. provides engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services to various industries, including mining, metallurgy, oil and gas, infrastructure, and other industrial customers for “Asset Management and Maintenance Services”.

Demir Engineering has an exciting opportunity within the Edmonton office, seeking a “Supply Chain Specialist”. This position will be an integral member to our team by supporting both our outsourced and in-house operations.


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Manage procurement operations including ordering both off-the-shelf standard components and engineered products.
Oversee and manage warehouse, stocks and inventories including raw materials, tools, and other required supplies for in-house use and needs.
Coordinate and manage logistic operations including international and domestic freights, shipping, and receiving.
Develop and manage supplier and contractor relationships including domestic and global suppliers.
Assist with effective costing and pricing processes based on Request for Quote / Request for Proposal (RFQ/ RFP) prepared by engineering team including multi-disciplinary projects.
Monitor and maintain project timeframes, progresses, and schedule of contracts portfolio on weekly updates. Take proactive actions to ensure that company delivery requirements are achieved.
Collaborate effectively with Business Unit leaders to understand and support any project requirements within company Quality Management System (QMS).


REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Certificate, diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, supply chain, or related field.
Proven Experience in Supply chain, purchasing and shipping agent or relevant role dealing with international suppliers.
Class 5 driver’s license
Able to work with a team in high paced environment and set priorities.
Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking and able to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with relevant parties.
Fit to be walking, standing, bending, lifting, and performing continuous and repetitive movements.
Experience working in a manufacturing shop or industrial site environment where safety protocols are followed.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and MRP/ERP software – Microsoft Dynamics BC is preferred.
General knowledge or experience with hydraulic, electrical, plumbing, HVAC components is an asset.
Experience with packaging, shipping, and receiving is an asset.
