Safely provide drilling program support services to the BBC geology and field services teams for the success of the ongoing drill campaign.
This position is centered around the Black Butte Copper Project, located 17 miles north of White Sulphur Springs, MT. Operations and development of the Project are owned by Sandfire Resources America, Inc. and are carried out by its wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, Tintina Montana, Inc. (TMI) Black Butte Copper (BBC) will be a showcase underground copper mine utilizing state-of-the-art technology and best practice management principles to deliver positive returns for shareholders and set a new benchmark in outcomes for all stakeholders. This position is responsible for supporting the leadership team of TMI to deliver a showcase underground mine development and work with the operations and geological teams to grow and enhance the geological resources for Black Butte Copper.
Working with the Field Crew and Geology teams, the support technician will complete support tasks for the ongoing drill program. This should include but is not limited to the following:
• Perform specific gravity measurements on core samples.
• Assist with photographing of the drill core.
• Assist with updating the measurement markers in core boxes in preparation for logging.
• Maintain the upkeep of the BBC office core logging and cutting area
• Assist in installation and maintenance of Best Management Practices (BMP’s) on all core drill sites, as required.
• Assist with the reclamation of the roads and core drill pads, as required.
• Assist in the packaging and transportation of the drill core.
• Assist in the care and maintenance of all the Company’s buildings, equipment and facilities.
• Assist the geological staff in the transportation, data collection, and sampling of drill core.
• Transport and deliver Company equipment and materials as directed.
• Perform labor necessary to the progress of drilling and sampling programs.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor
• Operate Company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
• Build positive relationships with the landowners and the public
The successful applicant will meet the minimum requirements which include:
• Passing a Company required pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
• Have a valid state issued driver’s license and be insurable to operate Company vehicles.
• Ability to work safely in accordance with Company policy and pass respirator fit testing requirements.
• Ability to operate small equipment such as skid-steer, forklift, excavator, and backhoe.
• Ability to comply with all PPE requirements.
• Able to work outside for extended periods of time.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
