SUMMARY
The Tool & Die Repair Person perform a wide variety of tool & die room duties involving the minor repair and preparation of forging dies, combination trim & punch tooling, die holders, and other tooling required to support forging operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, work orders, verbal or written guidelines and instructions to clean, grind/polish, change/alter marking, retrieve from or place into inventory all tooling, jigs or fixtures, die inserts and other related tooling and assemblies needed to support forging operations.
•Through the use of trades training and acquired experience, die repair person must be proficient at performing the necessary sequence of operations to restore used/prepare new forge tooling to required specifications for use in production.
•Die repair duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning forge/trim tooling of die lubes, storage protectants, rust, etc., polishing checks, heat/abrasion marks, dings/burrs, peening old lettering, surface cracks, loose trim blade areas, etc.
•
•Die repair person is responsible for changing material and heat code markings for production personnel and verifying the accuracy of those changes following strict safety, lock out/tag out, code assignment and verification procedures.
•Die repair person is responsible for owning, caring for and assuring the current calibration of the necessary tools and precision instrumentation as are required to perform his/her duties.
•Die repair person is responsible for the orderly inventory, storage and marking of unused tooling and for the retrieval and staging of tools required for production.

•Die repair person is responsible for the production and submittal of tool casts to more experienced personnel for approval and will assist more experienced personnel in performing less complex die sinker duties in order to advance his/her skill and knowledge of the trade.
•Die repair person will perform preventative maintenance to die room equipment as authorized and is responsible for the safe guarding, operation and lubrication of grinders and other equipment required to perform his/her duties.
•Responsible to report any unusual or unsafe operating conditions or deviation in quality immediately to his/her supervisor.
•Responsible to prepare and submit/record production records, accurate piece counts, reports and forms required by company procedures.
•Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
•Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the positions participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
•Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.
•Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.
