Tooling Machinist

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Perform skilled level work in the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of metal parts and tools with a high degree of accuracy and precision in accordance with instructions and specifications. Assisting maintenance and manufacturing personnel as necessary in order to maintain Sunshine Minting?s production capabilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience as a skilled machinist and completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program, or five years of experience as a skilled machinist or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend or kneel. The employee is continuously required to use hands and arms to reach, finger, handle, or feel objects and controls. The employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear.

The employee must regularly lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

As a Machinist, an employee will work in a cool to extremely hot environment, dependent upon project. There is exposure to fuels, oils, cleaning solvents and fumes from machinery. Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the Maintenance area and while working on machinery. The noise level in the work environment varies depending upon project, hearing protection is required. Additional safety equipment may be required.
