Your role in our success:

The Supervisor will promote and ensure a safe operation of all vehicles/equipment and develop a safety-first culture within the company and fleet of Marlin Gas Services.

The Supervisor should implement a fleet program that will contribute to the achievement of overall company goals. Be a direct point of contact for all Hazmat drivers for questions, maintenance, or relative information. They are to develop strategies that implement long-term planning to produce fleet budgets each year and develop strategies for cost containment and reductions. Marlin Gas Services currently uses various fleet management services and a GPS tracking system to manage and monitor the fleet. Vehicles include tractor trailers, service trucks, trailers, and ancillary type equipment. The Supervisor will ensure that the daily operation of the drivers and fleet meets the service and efficiency standards of the company.


What you'll be working on:

Performs management, professional expertise and a variety of semi-skilled, skilled and administrative work in the daily operation of Marlin Gas Services. This person works under the general direction of the business/operations manager and along with the technician’s supervisor.
This administrative role requires professionalism at all levels including effective supervision skills, coaching, mentoring, managing processes, process improvement, tracking budget expenses, strategic planning and maintaining the highest standards of customer service. This position also has the responsibility for participating in and coordination daily work functions and dispatch.
Dispatch – Coordinate with technician supervisor on day to day fleet operations.
Strong leadership skills with little to no direction.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, including DOT requirements which will be executed safely and legally according to federal, state, and company regulations.
Responds to and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.
Maintains automated program to track maintenance schedules, inventory, and cost analysis, for both fuel use and vehicle service interval life.
Ability to maintain automated fleet management software programs or ability to develop a new system.
Develop cost estimates for repairs, parts, or replacement of vehicles or equipment. Active awareness of current vehicle and equipment advances, developments, and technology.
Physically inspects maintenance and repair work, and accident damage. Inspects and accepts delivery of replacement or new vehicles and equipment.
Oversee fleet compliance through annual renewals of required permits with back office and interacts with outside vendors.

Oversees the safety of assigned fleet maintenance workers and equipment operators by instructing individuals in proper safety procedures and monitoring work in progress.
Creates and completes forms, reviews driver paperwork for accuracy and completeness, writes reports, delivers messages, and interprets policies and procedures.
Be available by cell phone after hours and during emergency situations with the ability to recommend course of action.


Who you are:

5-7 years’ experience preferred as a driver/fleet manager or supervisor in a fleet consisting of over 50+ vehicles including heavy equipment. Majority of the fleet managed should be Class A vehicles.
4 years’ experience required as a driver/fleet manager or supervisor in a fleet consisting of over 50+ vehicles including heavy equipment. Majority of the fleet managed should be Class A vehicles.
Time management
Excellent organizational skills and communication skills in person, email and phone.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel and smart sheet.
Knowledge of all federal DOT, Safety, and regulatory issues in transportation.
CDL driving experience a plus.
Ability to recognize, isolate and solve problems that improve company’s overall performance.
Work closely with internal departments i.e. back office and technician supervisor in daily functions.



Where you'll be working:

Majority of the work week will be in office with occasional travel. Duties to include administrative functions using the phone, computer and communicating with people. This job will require lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit/stand a minimum of 8 hours per day, perform keyboard operations a minimum of 6 hours per day, and must be able to stand and climb stairs as required. There will be bending of the waist, wrist and shoulders. Must be reachable to provide guidance/support outside core operating hours for efficiency in dispatch.
