Underground Utility Worker

Overview:

Join our team at Lake Apopka Natural Gas District as a Utility Worker. We are a Natural Gas Utility located in Winter Garden dedicated to providing reliable energy services to our community. As a Utility Worker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our utility systems to ensure uninterrupted service for our customers. This job is an excellent opportunity to learn our business literally from the ground up as we train you in natural gas distribution and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

- Assist Crew Leader in performing routine maintenance on utility equipment and systems.

- Assist Crew Leader in the installation and repair of gas lines

- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues promptly.

- Respond to service calls and emergencies to resolve issues efficiently.

- Operate specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively.

- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.

- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in utility maintenance or related field is preferred.

- Knowledge of basic utility systems and equipment.

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
