The Vice President for Corporate Governance and General Counsel position reports to the CEO and serves as a member of the dynamic and collaborative executive leadership team, which sets the strategic direction, operating philosophy and internal policy of the organization.

The executive leadership team at Energy Northwest may periodically have changes in scope and purview to support the needs of the agency. This provides our executives opportunities for career development and growth, while enhancing the synergy of the full executive leadership team.
The VP, Corporate Governance & General Counsel is currently responsible for the following organizations: Compliance (which includes Environmental and Regulatory Programs, Legal Services and Regulatory Affairs), Public Affairs and Supply Chain Services. This position also provides oversight of the activities and involvement of outside legal firms retained for specialist purposes and/or investigations.
As the General Counsel for the agency, ensure that the legal, regulatory and compliance interests of Energy Northwest are protected and appropriately advised to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, Executive Board, Participants Review Board, and management/staff. Responsible for effectively managing all legal, regulatory and compliance matters affecting Energy Northwest, and other organizations and/or work scope as assigned.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide exemplary leadership and management direction to the organizations within this position’s purview, including planning and assigning projects or tasks, monitoring progress, and evaluating results. Manage and evaluate staff performance. Evaluate staff development needs and provide appropriate training and developmental opportunities. Develop current and future leaders through succession planning, use of developmental plans and through active monitoring and coaching.
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
