Window Technician Job Summary
The window technician is responsible for maintenance and cleaning of windows for various buildings. Must be able to drive from property to property.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Physically perform all related duties of window cleaning in accordance with company policies and/or manufacturer’s recommended maintenance requirements.
•Removing dirt and grime from windows and glass surfaces using a non-abrasive glass cleaning solution, water and rubber squeegee blades.
•Determining whether window glass is clear, reflective, or tinted, and adapting window cleaning techniques accordingly.
•Grout cleaning, burnishing, hard water stain removal, pressure washing, water extractions etc.
•Using a scrim or microfiber cloth to dry around the edges of the glass. Using toweling cloths to remove excess water and moisture from windowsills.
•Operating aerial lift platforms and other lift equipment to reach the windows of high-rise buildings.
•Ensure tools and equipment are good working condition and perform preventative maintenance and minor repair of equipment as necessary.
•Ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
•Responsible for keys, alarm combinations and company property.
•Ensure areas are setup with appropriate signage and/or cones and clean-up after each job to ensure that there is no residue or dirt left behind.
•Drive company vehicles and equipment to assigned locations as necessary
•Train new technicians on all safety protocols and proper operations of equipment and floor care processes as necessary.
•Performs other related duties as needed, including janitorial and/or floor care.
•Communicate and update management on job status.
•Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and out of town.
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending and stooping.
•Must be able to climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Qualifications / Skills & Abilities:
•Must pass a background check.
•Must have a valid Driver’s License and good driving history.
•Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
•Effectively able to communicate verbally and in writing and be able to read/take and give instructions.
•Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor towards staff, customers, clients, and visitors to the property.
•Detail-oriented and thorough with ability to follow instructions from management.
•Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
Experience and Education:
•Related experience preferred.
•General education or high school diploma equivalent.
