The Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO) is a mutual ditch company that was incorporated in 1902. It has over 8,000 shares in 500 separate shareholder accounts. FRICO's business office is in Brighton, CO. The FRICO system consists of four major and several smaller reservoirs and approximately 400 miles of canals extending from the Front Range foothills to east of Greeley, Colorado. FRICO also manages three associated ditch and reservoir company systems. FRICO provides the major storage for the municipal needs of 300,000 citizens of four municipalities in the northwest Denver area. FRICO's other reservoirs remain predominantly in agricultural use.
FRICO is seeking a full time self-motivated, resourceful Accounting Manager to oversee the company's overall accounting functions. The successful candidate will be a fast learner with a technical aptitude and a drive for accuracy. The position requires a team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while managing an accounting staff of three full time employee.
The Accounting Manager will maintain communication with banks, investment brokers, insurance brokers, external auditing firms and state agencies, approve payments by verifying documentation and protect assets by improving upon existing internal controls with documentation.
The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for preparation of annual budgets, monthly budget reports to present to Management and Boards of Directors, analyzing revenue and expenses to guide financial decisions, compiling information for annual financial review or audit by an independent accounting firm and reviewing monthly financial statements. The Accounting Manager also files quarterly prepaid income taxes, personal property taxes and insures all required 1099’s are issued as applicable.
This position is responsible for managing accounting staff to perform all accounting functions of FRICO as well as various corporations managed by FRICO. This includes supervising staff to accurately perform daily accounting operations including, but not limited to: the processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable, allocating and posting payroll from bi-weekly timesheets, maintaining an up to date Paylocity database and payroll tax file retention. Accounting staff will also reconcile bank statements,
PayPal statements, credit card statements, review general ledger, prepare bank deposits and implement changes to benefit programs.
The successful candidate will possess excellent professional and organization skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills within all levels of the organization. Good problem solving skills and professional experience with the latest versions of Microsoft Office products are required, as well as the ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks. A strong attention to detail and time management skills are also required.

$90k to $130k depending on experience and qualifications.
