REPORTS TO: Instrumentation Coordinator

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

•

Design and develop site specific HMI’s, Historian and Scada based systems utilizing Inductive Automation Ignition Software and Rockwell FTView software.

•

Work alongside a dedicated IT team in database management/administration.

•

Collaborate with Facilities Engineers and Operations to understand system requirements and develop software solutions that meet production goals.

•

Work with other programmers, vendors, contractors and engineers to identify opportunities for system improvements and implement necessary changes.

•

Stay current with new technology and industry advancements, incorporating them where applicable.

•

Assist the Operations, Facilities, and Production Engineering groups in tracking, trending and reporting on Oil and Gas process related data.

•

Provide guidance on automation control standards.

•

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

WHAT YOU NEED:

•

Experience in PLC programming, preferably in an industrial automation setting.

•

Familiarity with industrial communications protocols including OPC, MQTT, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU.

•

Proficiency with Python, Java, and HTML is a plus.

•

Expertise with HMI software such as Rockwell FTView and Inductive Automation Ignition (Vision and Perspective).

•

Experienced with SQL databases and related queries.

•

Familiar with industrial radio communication systems, particularly in the 900MHz and 5.2GHz unlicensed bands as well as Cellular based units.

OTHER DETAILS:

This position is primarily office based, but with time spent at field facilities and construction sites as required.
