Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent route planning skills, and the ability to handle different types of freight. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
•
Operate tractor-trailer units to transport goods to designated locations.
•
Load and unload freight using forklifts and other equipment as necessary.
•
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
•
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
•
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
•
Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency.
•
Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
•
Handle various types of trailers including flatbed, tanker, and refrigerated trailers as required.
Skills
•
Proficient in operating tractor-trailer units with manual transmission capabilities.
•
Experience with load unloading processes and equipment such as forklifts.
•
Familiarity with route driving and navigating various terrains and weather conditions.
•
Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols.
•
Ability to manage freight efficiently while ensuring secure transport.
•
Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
•
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
