Role Description: We are looking for a Controller who will play a pivotal role in reporting consolidated financial results and managing the financial and administrative aspects of the US office.
This role requires someone who exhibits a unique blend of analytical skills, attention to detail, technical proficiency, and interpersonal skills. The incumbent must find genuine enthusiasm in working with numbers and maintaining a smooth and efficient administration.
This role will be responsible for the following:
● Own, reconcile, and direct a tight GL month-end close process involving the consolidation of corporate entities in three countries.
● Review all processes owned or impacted by accounting and establish or improve upon formal written processes/policies.
● Coordinate with the VP of Finance and accounting team to improve, source, and maintain all accounting IT systems, including mid-market solutions for ERP, billing, and expenses
● Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
● Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
● Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
● Prepare and manage regular funding requests sent by the foreign offices.
● Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation and support.
● Coordinate with FP & A in developing KPI’s, forecasting, and insights.
● Oversee accounts receivable functions, including generating customer invoices, following up on amounts outstanding, and reconciling billable amounts
● Oversee accounts payable functions, including vendor invoice processing, payment approvals, and reconciliation.
● Perform regular monitoring of vendor expenses and contracts to ensure correct payments and seek to reduce unnecessary expenditures.
● Manage the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees.
● Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, in collaboration with HR, Budgeting, and Forecasting.
● Participate in the development of annual budgets and forecasts in coordination with relevant departments.
● Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing explanations for variances.
● Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and taxation.
● Prepare and submit required financial reports to regulatory authorities as needed.
● Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments. Administrative Oversight:
● Manage administrative functions such as office facilities, equipment, supplies, and vendor relationships.
● Streamline administrative processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is a MUST
● Proven experience of 7+ years in accounting, financial management, and administration, preferably in B2B SaaS or subscription-based service companies
● Knowledge of best practices in SaaS accounting, including managing revenue streams, expenses, payroll, AP/AR, taxation, and more
● Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP or accounting systems QuickBookss or other ERPs) and G Suite products.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse cultures and regions
● Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
● Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
● Adaptability to changing environments and the ability to drive continuous process improvement.
● High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
