Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating various types of cranes and heavy equipment in a scrap metal recycling environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Duties
•
Operate cranes to lift, move, position, and load trucks and railcars.
•
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols while operating heavy machinery.
•
Conduct pre-operation inspections on cranes and other heavy equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
•
Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate lifting operations effectively.
•
Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, including hours worked, loads lifted, and any maintenance performed.
•
Assist with the setup and dismantling of cranes as needed for various projects.
•
Perform basic maintenance tasks on cranes and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Skills
•
Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including hydraulic scrap cranes and CAT loaders.
•
Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment such as Caterpillars.
•
Ability to work effectively in a recycling site environment while adhering to safety standards.
•
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
•
Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in lifting operations and compliance with safety protocols.
•
Previous experience in building or construction-related roles is a plus.
