About This Job

Charleston’s Rigging and Marine Hardware, a CERTEX USA company, is seeking a dependable, Crane & Hoist Service Technician to join our team in Charleston, SC.

Position Overview

The Crane & Hoist Service Technician will provide quality installations, inspections, maintenance and repairs of overhead hoist and crane systems. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and circuits.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Duties

•

Troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes – Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Industrial Electrician.

•

Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (extensive knowledge of motor controls – 480 volt 3 phase, 120V controls, contactor controls and variable frequency drives).

•

Breakdown calls (ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues)

•

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

•

Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer in repairing equipment as needed.

•

Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs.

•

Provide a high level of communication with both Customer and Crane Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities

•

Troubleshooting experience with 3 phase motor control systems.

•

OSHA 10

•

Valid driver license with a clean driving record

•

Strong communications skills and customer-focused attitude.

•

Punctual, reliable and able to work independently

•

Must be 18 years of age or older

Other Requirements

•

Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background check

•

Be able to provide valid documentation to provide proof of citizenship in accordance with I-9 document

•

Display a professional and courteous attitude

•

Report to work at the designated start time

•

Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required

•

Willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary

•

Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company’s “Stop Work” policy

•

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directed

•

Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as required

Education and Experience

•

High school diploma or equivalent

•

Five years’ work experience with Industrial Equipment, Overhead Cranes a positive

Working Conditions, Hours, Travel

•

This job requires travel to and from client locations throughout a designated region as well as working in a warehouse environment

•

This is a full-time position with standard work hours of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime required.

•

Working at heights & some heavy lifting.

•

Operating forklifts, personnel lifts.

Physical Requirements

•

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

•

Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging environmental conditions (e.g., extreme temperatures, wet conditions, etc.).

•

Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

•

Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, as well as perform overhead work.

•

Manual dexterity to handle tools and parts effectively.

•

Pay Rate: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
