Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a variety of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, delivery schedules, and customer service.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role.
- Knowledge of various types of trucks and their operation, including manual transmission vehicles.
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic automotive repair knowledge is a plus.
