Florence Copper is expected to have the lowest energy and greenhouse gas-intensity (GHG) of any copper producer in North America and will reduce the United States’ reliance on foreign producers for a metal considered to be critical for the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Florence Copper is a wholly owned subsidiary of Taseko Mines Limited which is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Taseko is also the operator and 75% owner of the Gibraltar copper/molybdenum mine in Canada and various other development projects.
Responsibilities Include
• Electrical Planning and Scheduling:
•Develop detailed electrical plans and schedules for new and ongoing in situ mining and property projects.
•Use planning software like 4SITE or Microsoft Project to create and manage project schedules.
•Assess project scope and determine the electrical requirements for each phase.
•Schedule repair and PM workorders.
•Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure alignment of electrical plans with overall project timelines.
•Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) to detail tasks and responsibilities.
•Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review project progress and address any issues.
•Determine the materials, tools, and workforce needed for electrical projects and ensure timely procurement.
•Develop resource-loaded schedules to optimize manpower and equipment usage.
•Monitor and adjust resource allocation to address project changes or unforeseen challenges.
• Technical Support and Compliance:
•Provide technical guidance for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
•Ensure all electrical work complies with industry standards, safety codes, and environmental regulations.
•Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
•Maintain equipment and drawing files.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
•Analyze project data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
•Generate reports on project status, resource utilization, and cost forecasts for management review.
•Review oil and vibration analysis on plant equipment and plan accordingly.
•Use data to develop strategies for reducing costs and improving project efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
•Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and mining technology.
•Implement innovative solutions and best practices to enhance electrical planning and execution.
•Lead initiatives for process improvements and cost savings.
•Forecast electrical repairs and outages.
•Prepare an electrical operational budget as well as an electrical capital budget for the upcoming years.
•Track electrical maintenance cost’s to ensure department is on budget.
