Summary

To support the primary function of new business opportunities for estimate, cost control, Manufacturing Cost Analysis, and risk management for Manufactured products. This role reports directly to the Senior Planning Manager in the Manufacturing Organization. Qualification Requirements

•

Review and understand all business opportunity requirements including specifications, drawings, and project scope.

•

Interface with vendors and subcontractors to obtain current costs for goods and services.

•

Maintain and manage all estimating cost data (databases) and pricing related to the applicable estimating tools.

•

Understanding of Manufacturing principles and practices • Participate as requested in company training events and classes.

•

Maintain a commitment to overall professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

•

High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s in engineering, manufacturing, or business management preferred.

•

8+ years of experience in Manufacturing and cost management.

•

2+ years of leadership experience.

•

Read and interpret electrical and mechanical documents, drawings, work instructions and written directions.

•

Experience Managing Cost and communicating cost savings initiatives.

•

Experience in MRP/ERP systems.

•

Computer and basic software operation and knowledge.

•

Good basic math skills.

•

Read and communicate in English.

•

Interact and effectively communicate with other DI team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

•

Knowledge of cost analysis

•

High attention to detail and ability to focus on multiple projects • Strategic and analytical thinking skills.

•

Ability to present and communicate complex information professionally to all levels of the business

Essential Functions

•

Review Business Opportunity/Tasks content, scope, and risks to ensure customer expectations are met.

•

Provide feedback/support to PDE’s and Estimators with regards to scope of work and pricing for Manufacturing Product.

•

Review estimates for accuracy and pricing to ensure customer satisfaction and PS profitability.

•

Continually monitor and track estimates and actual outcomes to ensure best pricing practices.

•

Develop consistent product cost models for routine products.

•

Lead Cost Savings initiatives and manage continuous improvement projects related to cost savings or tracking in manufacturing.

•

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.

•

Assign, track and deliver on time accurate estimates and proposals for all business opportunities.

•

Monitor and maintain cost data in all estimation tools.

•

Support Estimators, PDE’s and Sales for project costing and risk analysis.

•

Proven track record of leading and managing a small group of Analysts.

•

Analyze ERP/MRP Systems to identify leading and lagging indicators of Manufacturing Cost.

Physical Demands

•

Must be able to travel periodically to customer locations, vendors/suppliers and company events.

•

Must be able to focus for extended periods of time.

•

Must be able to work extended hours if necessary to complete and review estimates on time.

Work Environment

This is an in office position at the DI Campus in Durham, NC
