Job Title: Finance Co-op


Reporting directly to Project Accounting Manager or their designate, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Co-op to join our team. This co-op provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, accounting, and reporting while working closely with experienced finance professionals. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has strong analytical skills, and possesses a basic understanding of financial principles.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Use financial software and tools for data entry and analysis.
Help reconcile accounts and process invoices or expense reports.
Provide administrative support to finance and accounting departments as needed.
Maintain and organize financial records and documents.
Help track outstanding receivables and follow up on payments.
Participate in ad hoc finance projects and initiatives as required.
Support reconciliation of vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of financial data.
All other duties as reasonably assigned


The Ideal Candidate


Education / Qualifications:


Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field


Experience / Skills

Basic knowledge of financial principles and accounting concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software/tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented with excessive attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters
Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed
Strong interpersonal and reasoning skills, with proven problem-solving abilities
Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others


Work Location & Conditions


This is an office-based job, in Skeena’s Corporate office located in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Monday to Friday schedule. Some flexibility in work location may be considered.


Depending on business needs and individual circumstances, this internship will run from May-September or from May-December (in a 4-month or 8-month block).


Compensation


The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $20-24/hour in line with the job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Hourly ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
