JOB SUMMARY: Support the Luck Stone division by developing and maintaining the geological databases of mine sites and performing geological evaluations, analysis, and field explorations.
30% of job: Evaluate potential reserves on new and existing properties. Includes performing appropriate geological research, field reconnaissance, directing exploration drilling activities, analyzing recovered materials, and communicating results and recommendations.
30% of job: Perform on-site geological reconnaissance field work. Assess the viability of subsurface exploration, including the development of multi-phased exploration activities as appropriate for sites under investigation. Conduct exploration/drilling programs (manage logistic, provide survey support, log results, etc.). Perform geologic assessments of active pits, including reviews of geologic structure, rock types, mineralogy, and rock quality.
20% of job: Build and maintain computerized geological models for existing mine sites and undeveloped sites. Includes capturing research from published sources, archiving of sites and investigative projects, and maintaining databases to support fulfillment of reserve goals, educational needs, and all internal and external geologic inquiries.
20% of job: Analyze and report on materials recovered during investigations for viability as a product source.
Work Experience: 5+ years’ experience in geological field mapping and supervision of field projects, or related experience.
