Summary

We are seeking a Health &Safety Specialist to join our team at American Chrome & Chemicals. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a safe working environment while supporting our commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

•

Develop and implement health & safety programs for example : Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Fire Protection & Training

•

Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA/TCEQ, etc. regulations.

•

Inspect and track upkeep of safety equipment as required by OSHA (i.e. fire extinguishers, safety showers, air monitors portable and fixed, etc.)

•

Actively manages industrial hygiene compliance over Chromium chemical safety, heat stress, noise, ergonomics, respiratory protection, health monitoring, etc.

•

Provide training and development for employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures.

•

Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences.

•

Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and prepare reports for management review.

•

Provides leadership to site specific safety processes including safety steering committee, etc.

•

Collaborate with various departments to enhance workplace safety initiatives.

•

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

•

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Safety Management or a related scientific or technical field (engineering, biology, or chemistry) is required.

•

2- 5 years of experience in all aspects of health and safety standards, practices and application in an industrial/chemical manufacturing environment

•

Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and OSHA standards.

•

Experience in training development and implementation.

•

Excellent analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis.

•

Proficient with Microsoft Office products - Excel, Word, PowerPoint

•

Effective communication skills for report writing and training delivery.

•

Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.

Preferred

•

BCSP Certifications - Certified Safety Professional designation

•

OSHA Certifications - industrial safety and/or healthcare safety
