Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and cranes.
· Inspecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues with heavy equipment
· Repairing and maintaining engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components
· Performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life
· Ordering and replacing damaged or worn parts
· Operating various diagnostic and repair equipment such as welding tools, hoists, and jacks
· Ensuring accurate records of all repairs and maintenance done on heavy equipment
· Communicating with supervisors and other mechanics regarding equipment issues and repair solutions
· High School diploma or equivalent and technical training or equivalent experience
· Previous experience as a heavy equipment technician preferred
· Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
· Familiarity with diagnostic and repair tools and equipment
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
· Attention to detail and ability to work independently
