About This Job

Tropic Mechanical - a Doral-based HVAC construction company - is looking for an early-career HR Assistant to grow with the company and its HR department.

Opportunities in This Role:

This role will report to the head of HR and will play a role in just about all areas of the department. Duties include, but are not limited to:

•

Post job advertisements in a variety of online sources

•

Support recruitment efforts by screening and interviewing candidates for open roles

•

Coordinate and attending college / career fairs on behalf of the company

•

Draft offer letters to top selected candidates

•

Help new hires through the preemployment process, including drug and background screening

•

Prepare new hire packets and ensure completion of required documents

•

Onboard new hires and setting them up for success as they start their new jobs

•

Maintain and update employee records (physical and digital)

•

Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits

•

Respond to references and employment verification requests

•

Assist with benefits enrollment and changes (medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.)

•

Help answer employee questions about benefit coverage

•

Support annual open enrollment and coordinate communication to staff

•

Help to track employee time and attendance records, supporting Payroll by entering and updating payroll information under supervision

•

Help coordinate performance reviews, track completion and maintaining related records

•

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and assist with preparation for audits or regulatory filings (e.g., EEO, ACA, I-9s)

•

Schedule and track employee training sessions, maintaining training records and supporting compliance-related training

•

Coordinate employee recognition programs, social events, and surveys, distribute internal communications and newsletters, and otherwise support the HR team with culture-building initiatives

•

Maintain HR filing systems and support the HR department in special projects as needed

What We're Looking For:

•

Experience and education in Human Resources is strongly preferred

•

Given the workforce and local community, English and Spanish language capabilities will be important.
