Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist performs a mix of complex, routine, and specialized duties related to multiple areas of Human Resources. This position handles confidential information and sensitive situations, requiring good judgment and discretion.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Partners with all departments to manage human capital, ensuring the business has the right people in the right roles.
•Suggests, administers and supports improvements and initiatives to develop and retain talent.
•Coordinates with Talent Acquisition staff regarding open positions, ensuring that accurate job descriptions and qualifications are vetted with hiring managers and clear requirements are provided to the recruiter. Serves as a point of contact for onsite interviews. Performs full cycle recruiting when needed.
•Owns the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive and productive experience. Coordinates with the hiring manager and other resources such as IT as part of this process.
•Responsible in partnership with other field HR staff for weekly payroll functions including answering employee questions, reviewing timecards, preparing payroll, and distributing checks.
•Advises leaders regarding coaching, training, performance improvement plans, and warnings, supports leaders through the discipline process, and administers policies and discipline in a consistent and compliant manner.
•Partners with HR leadership and the business to manage performance and total compensation.
•Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees about standard policies, procedures, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
•Prepares reports for use by other departments, management and within HR.
•Administers employee benefits, including educating and assisting employees, working with contribution files, and managing benefit invoices.
•Administers leave, disability and workers compensation processes. Supports the safety program and coordinates with the safety manager to maintain a safe workplace, meet regulatory requirements, and address incidents.
•Coordinates training and professional development programs, in partnership with HR leadership and the business.
•Plans and executes employee relations initiatives.
•Protects employee confidentiality, exercises good judgment and discretion, and complies with applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations and policies.
•Acts as a champion of safety, ethics and company culture.

Qualifications:
•Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
•SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred, or willingness to earn certification.
•Two years or more of relevant HR experience including multiple aspects of HR.
•Able to perform the physical demands of the job, including:
•o Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•o Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
•o Ability to safely navigate a manufacturing environment.
•Able to drive occasionally between sites – valid driver’s license and car required
