SAI Gulf specializes in the sampling and analysis of solid fuels such as coal, coke, and petroleum coke in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico region and samples over 45 million tons of dry bulk commodities annually.

SAI Gulf currently operates three testing laboratories fully equipped to provide sample preparation and analytical services for dry bulk fuel commodities.

About the role:

In this role, you will contribute to the company's success by performing maintenance and repairs on all Mechanical Sampling equipment, company-wide. Your duties would include providing daily documentation for tasks performed, ensuring consistent quality and safety standards are achieved, and working to keep all equipment in peak running condition through an effective preventative maintenance program. This position may require you to work over and near water. You will report to the Senior Manager - MaintenanceTechnical Services and be a part of the Maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

•

Repair / maintain mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure proper operating condition at various job sites

•

Use diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot 3 phase electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gear drives / gear reducers, conveying systems and PLC systems

•

Follow a preventative maintenance schedule to perform various types of maintenance on mechanical sampling equipment at various job sites

•

Operate equipment such as boom lifts, compressors, and assorted tools as required for daily activities

•

Recommend appropriate corrective actions as required

•

Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs

•

Maintain a clean and organized work area including walkways, sampling systems, and preparation equipment

•

Complete all safety programs required by the company and terminal, with satisfactory proficiency

•

Comprehension of all safety hazards within the workplace such as but not limited to office, mechanical sampling systems, industrial equipment, inclement weather, working over or near water, and proper use of required personal safety equipment (PPE)

•

Complete understanding and application of the Lock Out / Tag Out procedures

•

Report any accidents, near misses, and incidents to management

•

Maintain awareness of current developments and conditions affecting the quality procedures

Location and commitments:

•

Full-time position with the primary location in Metairie, LA

•

Monday - Friday plus on call as needed

•

This position requires evening, weekend, holiday work and travel

•

A commitment to quality service is a must

Technical and professional skills required:

•

Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience performing maintenance and repairs in an industrial environment

•

Must have welding experience

•

Must possess the necessary skills and technical knowledge to perform scheduled services and advanced level troubleshooting on specialty equipment and systems

•

Proven experience with equipment maintenance, power tools, cleaning tools, and safety systems

•

Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment

•

Read and write the English language, have legible handwriting, and be able to perform basic mathematics

•

Basic knowledge and understanding of computer applications required to perform job duties

•

Ability to communicate in a professional manner with company personnel, clients, observers, and terminal personnel

•

Ability to liaise with senior management and assist with investigations and deviations with minimum guidance

Additional requirements:

•

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must have a valid driver's license
