Key Position Functions
•Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations including resolving or recommending action on reconciling items
•Post journal entries as required
•Process accounting transactions and prepare monthly reconciliations for select subsidiary companies
•Assist with preparation of month end financial statement package
•Investigate variances in various revenue and expense accounts
•Provide support to the yearend process including account reconciliations and preparation of year end working papers
•Administer corporate credit cards which includes collection of backup and timely payment of approved statement
•Provide support to the annual budget and forecasting process
•Support AR and AP functions as needed
•Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures
•Provide technical accounting support and interpretation
•Prepare a variety of ad hoc reports for management to assist in decision making
•Administration of Agent and Representative commissions
•Perform other related duties as necessary
Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination Of The Following
•Possess an Accounting, Finance, or equivalent college or university degree with preference given to those currently in or planning to enroll in a professional designation program
•Minimum 1 to 2 years of general accounting experience
•Experience in a manufacturing setting would be beneficial
•Good understanding of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•Familiarity with processing reconciliations for various accounts
•Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
•Hands-on experience with ERP such as SAGE 500, SAP, and Xero
•Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
•Accuracy and attention to detail
•Aptitude for numbers and strong quantitative skills
•Able to work effectively in a team environment
•Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
•Able to work independently and effectively manage diverse responsibilities
•Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
•Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
•Well organized and self-motivated
