The Landfill Operator is expected to familiarize themselves with all operations at the landfill including scale operation, heavy equipment operation, truck ticketing system, landfill and building maintenance, and sampling. The individual in this role will be in constant contact with customers and therefore, must demonstrate excellent communications skills and a high level of customer service. As this is a safety-sensitive role and due to the nature of working conditions, the successful candidate is required to be mentally and physically fit in order to successfully perform the tasks and responsibilities of this role.
This position works a shift of 7 days on 7 days off, 12 hour work days. The Saddle Hills Landfill is located 44 KM’s East of Dawson Creek, BC, 21 KM’s East of the BC/Alberta boarder and 67 KM’s West of Rycroft, AB. Local residents are preferred as accommodations are not provided.
