Summary/Objective:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for complete oversight of trucking, rail, and waterway distribution of both inbound and outbound deliveries. Special attention will be given to our RMC network and delivery efficiencies. This includes forecasting demand, monitoring inventories, coordinating with suppliers, and managing drivers and transportation resources.
Essential Functions:
•Ensure the department and team execute on existing bulk distribution services in the market while planning and managing company growth, costs and profitability in Bulk Transportation, 3rd Party Carriers and Brokered Freight business channels.
•Develop and manage overall logistical, materials and transportation strategies in line with the department and leadership goals and vision.
•Manage and assist planners and dispatchers, ensuring that inbound supply needs and outbound deliveries are being monitored and that resources are directed timely and efficiently
•Maintain effective and timely flow of communications with regional management, customers, and suppliers to ensure product usage is forecasted and deliveries are executed.
•Partner with key internal stakeholders to understand requirement and drive value based on sourcing strategies to ensure quality, value-cost optimization, service performance and business continuity are developed and sustained.
•Assist with physical inventories
•Assist batch personnel with handling of multiple aggregates and cementitious materials supply.
•Hire, train, develop and motivate employees toward accomplishing company goals and objectives; perform performance appraisals as required; and keep personnel records accurate and current.
•Support and enforce all company safety programs. Cooperate with the company Safety Manager and continually ensure that all company operations and activities are performed in a consistently safe manner.
•Management of all cement and aggregates terminals in North Carolina.
•Management of weigh masters at all North Carolina aggregates facilities.
•Lead implementation of corporate bulk materials dispatching platform in North Carolina.
•Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations and ensure that all company operations are in compliance with all related state and federal regulations.
•Cooperate with the Human Resources Department in the implementation of all company policies and procedures.
•Strengthen and maintain a high morale and team concept throughout the company through implementation and utilization of sound leadership and management principles, in addition to promoting and employing total quality principles to achieve a more efficient and quality workplace.
•Other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions:
•Volunteer and participate in company events.

•Work extended days and hours as needed (50-60 hrs/week).
•Must be able to transport oneself as some local/regional travel will be required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
•Previous experience in a logistics or dispatch environment preferred (6 years minimum).
•Previous supervisory experience (5 years minimum).

Certifications:
Industry Related Experience or Skills:
•Ready Mixed Concrete, managing drivers, transportation assets and DOT programs (strongly preferred).
•Proven history of implementing strict safety protocols for both company and third party contractors.
•Experience in managing drivers across a large geography preferred.
•Experience in managing raw materials flows in a large organization.
