Diamond D Industries, LLC, is searching for a skilled Lowboy Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of construction equipment to and from the job sites, utilizing a truck and lowboy trailer. The candidate should have strong knowledge of all USDOT and FMCSA regulations and practices of loading and unloading equipment and material in the construction industry.
The Lowboy Driver works independently as well as part of a team in various aspects of construction. This full-time position and plays a key role in supporting our operations by ensuring that equipment is delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with all DOT regulations and Diamond D Industries procedures.
Responsibilities
•Demonstrates good work practices through compliance and support for all site safety, health and environment rules and guidelines.
•Provide excellent customer service to clients.
•Operates a truck with a lowboy trailer to transport various heavy construction equipment from job site to job site.
•Loads and unload various construction equipment and secures equipment to trailer for safe transportation.
•Perform daily checks of oil fluids, water and fuel levels and performs visual inspections for leaks and mechanical issues. Responsible to notify manager if vehicle is in need of repair.
•Conducts daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation for DOT guidelines.
•Maintains vehicle mileage logs, permits and other related paperwork.
•Keep truck clean and orderly condition.
•Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.
•Ability to follow the managers directions in order to meet the expectations for each jobsite delivery.
•Strong attention to detail.
Required Skills and Qualifications
•High School diploma or equivalent.
•Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
•At lease 8 years of experience in lowboy equipment hauling.
•Candidate must possess an OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it.
•Candidate must possess a PowerSafe safety training certification or be willing to obtain it.
•Demonstrate flexibility and is adaptable to change.
•Ability to read and understand project plans and instructions.
•In depth working knowledge of construction site protocol.
•Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
•Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent communication and teambuilding skills.
•Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
•Successful candidates must complete a drug screening and background check prior to employment.
