NOTE: This position is located full-time within our Houston, TX office location.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Technical Accounting is responsible for all aspects of technical accounting. This role is required to perform in-depth research and analysis on all non-routine accounting transactions and prepare memorandums documenting the conclusions, while keeping up with emerging U.S. GAAP standards, as well as other ad-hoc duties. This role will also be one of the primary points of contact for external auditors to support the Company's accounting treatments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Preparation of white papers documenting the research, analysis and conclusions on transactions falling under ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 470, ASC 450 and ASC 718, with the ability to recognize instruments governed by ASC 815
•Experience with bespoke, long-term and complex revenue contracts, documenting each step of ASC 606 and providing research, examples, analysis and conclusions in white papers
•Ability to understand, analyze and document complex, long-term supplier contracts
•Experience analyzing goodwill, intangibles and inventory for impairment
•Coordinate with all internal parties outside of Finance (project management, procurement, etc…) to fully understand the nuances of both revenue and supplier contracts
•Evaluate the impact of new and emerging accounting standards that impact the Company’s existing transaction streams and disclosures required in 10-Q and 10-K filings
•Coordinate with the Company’s external auditors to ensure timely review of all white papers
•Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
•Education/Certification: A minimum of Bachelor or higher degree in accounting and licensed as a Certified Public Accountant is required.
•Experience: Minimum of 7 total years of experience serving in a technical accounting role, with at least 3 of those years within the Big 4 is required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience researching and documenting accounting guidance and accounting treatment required.
•Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:The target pay range for this position is $124,531 - $150,138 annually.The full pay range is $111,531 - $174,446.
