Position Summary: The Manufacturing Internship position provides an opportunity to get hands-on experience and be part of a growing manufacturing company that is committed to excellence in our operational processes.

Manufacturing Intern Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Specific tasks will be tailored to the interns experience level and abilities.

•

Identify and implement improvements that will drive increases in daily production output.

•

Utilize lean and six sigma principles to drive out waste.

•

Will be trained on 6S and then participate in the improvement of the 6S program.

•

Support a variety of manufacturing projects across multiple departments.

•

Improve material flow throughout the site by developing and implementing process improvements.

•

Conduct research using the internet and other sources of information.

•

Create or update designated databases for specific department needs.

•

Provide regular feedback and updates to the immediate supervisor about the status of assigned tasks.

•

Present project results to management and/or department personnel.

•

Follow all company and customer policies and procedures.

•

May perform other duties as assigned.

Manufacturing Intern Skills and Specifications:

•

Willing to learn, be mentored, and improve, with a positive attitude and solid communication skills.

•

Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.

•

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and G-Suite.

•

Good time management and prioritizing skills.

•

Strong organizational and task management skills.

•

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

•

Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner.

•

Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.

Manufacturing Intern Education and Qualifications:

•

Student(s) currently enrolled in classes in Manufacturing-related fields or leading to a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.

Manufacturing Intern Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of Manufacturing Intern, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Manufacturing Intern Work Environment:

While performing the duties of Manufacturing Intern, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
