Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Pipe Foreman to responsible for overseeing a crew on construction projects, ensuring the installation of piping systems is completed according to specifications, within budget, and on time, by assigning tasks, managing schedules, inspecting work quality, and maintaining safety standards on the job site; requiring a strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, blueprint reading, and effective leadership skills to manage a team and resolve issues that may arise during the installation process.
Responsibilities
•Crew Supervision: Assign tasks to pipefitters based on their skill level, monitor their work progress, and provide guidance as needed.
•Project Planning: Study project plans and specifications, coordinate with the project manager to develop work schedules and sequencing for pipe installation.
•Quality Control: Inspect completed pipe installations to ensure adherence to project specifications, proper alignment, and correct fittings.
•Safety Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols on the worksite, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations.
•Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of different pipe types, sizes, installation methods, and techniques.
•Blueprint Reading: Accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure correct pipe layout and installation.
•Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues that may arise during pipe installation, including potential conflicts with other trades.
•Communication: Maintain clear communication with the project manager, other crew members, and subcontractors regarding project progress and any concerns.
Requirements
•Experience: Minimum four (4) years of experience as a pipefitter, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
•Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of underground utility codes, pipefitting techniques, and various pipe materials.
•Leadership Abilities: Excellent communication skills, and ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
•Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and climbing.
