About This Job

Job Description Summary:

Safely assist in maintaining, fueling, and servicing heavy equipment fleet. Responsible for operating within state, federal, and company safety guidelines in an efficient and productive manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•

Report on time as scheduled

•

Perform maintenance on all equipment as assigned (greasing, oil changes, fueling, etc.)

•

Parts ordering, research, and pick-up

•

Exhibit a positive attitude and effectively work with others

•

Maintain and utilize proper safety equipment

•

Perform pre-operational equipment checks- (Performed outside of equipment)

•

Ability to research and recognize mechanical problems

•

Know lubrication and service requirements- (Performed outside of equipment)

•

Maintain all training and certifications as required by the company and/or state and federal law

•

Practice good housekeeping

•

Maximum awareness of surroundings

•

Capacity to correct and/or report all safety hazards

•

Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

•

Stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, traverse rough ground, work on elevated platforms and lift a minimum of 50lbs

•

Perform and/or assist in the general maintenance of equipment

•

Ability to understand direction from supervisors and safety personnel

•

Ability to interpret safety signs and training material

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

•

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

•

Valid driver’s license

•

Valid WV Surface Miner Certification preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS/CRITEIRA

•

Overtime hours as required to fulfill job responsibilities

•

Work is usually near moving mechanical parts and equipment

•

Work outside day-to-day weather conditions hot and cold

•

Mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as required by state and federal law

•

Pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report required
