· Inspect, measure, and examine in-process products and finished products to ensure conformity to required specifications.
· Provide continuous spot checks in all working areas to identify any possible non-conformities according inspection schedule and sampling chart.
· Be an active presence on the production floor. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of all the manufacturing steps and equipment to be able to recognize where a machine mis-adjustment or other equipment or tooling issue could affect product quality and suggest the appropriate corrective action.
· Investigate the root causes of open NCR's with departments involved (Raw material, Production, Maintenance, Training etc.) following the internal NCR process.
· Work effectively and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
· Act as a quality reference for production employees. Answers quality calls, teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
· Recommend improvements to the production and quality process to improve product quality.
· Perform quality assessments on all incoming raw materials and outgoing products following documented inspection procedures. Document inspections outcomes, fill out non-compliance form if required, and communicate with the responsible people.
· Perform quality assessments on External NCRs, fill out the inspection reports, and assist in the root cause analysis.
· Inspect and inventory production tooling and measuring equipment, evaluate their wear levels and accuracy (for example; combs, crimping wheels, etc.) Notify if an item needs replacement.
· Ensure that inspection equipment and measuring devices are functioning correctly and calibrated. (Calipers and tapes)
· Assist in the maintenance of the quality key performance indicator.
· Assist in the implementation of new procedures or corrective actions.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
· Ability to use and read a tape measure, and calipers.
· Highly motivated with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
· Ability to multi-task with good math and technical skills.
· Experience in use of precise measuring tools.
