Job Overview:
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for inspecting materials, identifying defects, and maintaining compliance with internal and customer specifications. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with precision measurement tools.
Key Responsibilities:
•Inspect parts after washing to ensure cleanliness and dimensional accuracy.
•Conduct inspections of incoming and outgoing parts to and from suppliers.
•Review and assess products using the E.J. Basler Inspection Process (EJIP) and customer-specific inspection plans.
•Identify and report non-conforming products to the Shift Supervisor, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
•Document and contain defective products, placing them on hold as needed.
•Guide and instruct employees on sorting or rework procedures when necessary.
•Utilize precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, height gauges, weigh scales, drop test equipment, vertical load testers, density meters, and microscopes.
•Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
•Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
•Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Experience: Minimum 1 year of quality inspection or manufacturing experience.
•Proficiency in using micrometers, gauges, Oasis, Comparator, height gauges, and microscopes.
•Ability to interpret blueprints and follow inspection procedures.
•Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and troubleshoot quality issues.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and customers.
•Ability to work with decimals, ratios, and percentages.
•Highly organized, flexible, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to visually inspect products and read detailed reports.
•Standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching above the shoulder as needed.
•Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
•Extended periods of sitting when working with documentation and reports.
Work Environment:
•Exposure to loud machinery and manufacturing equipment.
•Frequent interaction with moving mechanical parts, oil/solvents, fumes, odors, mists, and gases.
•Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
