Job Description:

As a Residential/Commercial Technician & Fire Alarm Installer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and fire alarms in both residential homes and commercial facilities. A strong focus on residential work is required, including working in occupied homes, performing retrofits, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Residential Duties:

•

Install and upgrade residential electrical systems including panels, lighting, receptacles, switches, and smart home integrations

•

Perform complete home rewires, service upgrades, and EV charger installations

•

Diagnose and repair electrical issues in single-family and multi-unit homes

•

Install systems such as smoke detectors, CO detectors, and security devices

•

Ensure clean, minimally invasive work in finished living spaces

•

Communicate clearly with homeowners to explain issues, timelines, and safety concerns

•

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and professionalism while working in client homes

Commercial/Fire Alarm Duties:

•

Install, program, test, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards

•

Read blueprints and follow construction drawings to lay out systems

•

Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on new and existing systems

•

Collaborate with general contractors, inspectors, and project managers

•

Ensure all work complies with local codes and company standards

Qualifications:

•

High school diploma or equivalent

•

Minimum 2+ years of residential electrical experience (required)

•

Experience with fire alarm system installation (preferred)

•

Strong knowledge of NEC and local residential code requirements

•

Ability to work independently in customer-occupied homes

•

Familiarity with smart home technology, low-voltage systems, and home automation (a plus)

•

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

•

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

•

NICET certification, state licensing, or journeyman card is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
