The Senior Mechanical Designer under general supervision, develops engineering changes and engineering drawings for complex equipment with minimal design requirements and instructions.
•
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00/depending on experience
•
Assignment Length: 6 months with the high possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and other factors.
•
Shift Details: 40 hours | Monday - Friday | 7:00 am - 3:30 pm | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities:
•
Apply sound engineering design logic and judgement to develop innovative solutions to design problems.
•
Create accurate and detailed part CAD models.
•
Develop and manage product structures in PDM systems.
•
Ensure drafting quality in design documentation.
•
Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of drawings created by other design personnel.
•
Conduct tolerance studies on tools to ensure proper equipment function.
•
Utilize and share expertise in materials and methods.
•
Apply knowledge of manufacturing, production processes, operations, and maintenance practices to designs.
•
Incorporate reliability, HSE, and quality analysis techniques during the design process.
Qualifications:
•
Associate's degree in drafting or a related discipline with 7 years of related experience, or 9 years of related drafting/design experience.
•
Proficient in preparing complex design layouts and schematics based on rough sketches or instructions from engineering personnel, with some latitude for independent design judgement.
•
Awareness of tolerance requirements for proper equipment function.
•
Expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
•
Experience in large assembly file management.
•
Excellent communication skills.
•
Proficiency in sheet metal and piping design.
•
SolidWorks certification is a plus, but not required.
•
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
•
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
