Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Supervisor to oversee our production operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and technical expertise in welding and fabrication processes. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing daily activities, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality work output. The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating tasks among team members, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on time.

Responsibilities

•

Supervise and lead a team of welders and fabricators in daily operations.

•

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

•

Interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes.

•

Operate welding equipment, including stick welding, and oversee the use of a beam line, angle line and cobot welder.

•

Manage the operation of forklifts and cranes for material handling.

•

Ensure use of TEKLA shop software including TEKLA GO tablets by shop personnel.

•

Train team members on proper techniques for welding, fabrication, and equipment operation.

•

Monitor work progress, quality control, and compliance with project specifications.

•

Conduct regular inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

•

Collaborate with project managers to align production schedules with project timelines.

Experience

•

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or construction environment.

•

Proficiency in welding techniques, including stick welding and fabricating metal components.

•

Experience with TEKLA or other industry software.

•

Familiarity with operating forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery.

•

Strong understanding of basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work.

•

Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents effectively.

•

Experience working on construction sites is preferred but not mandatory.
