Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Supervisor to oversee our production operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and technical expertise in welding and fabrication processes. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing daily activities, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality work output. The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating tasks among team members, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on time.
Responsibilities
•Supervise and lead a team of welders and fabricators in daily operations.
•Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
•Interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes.
•Operate welding equipment, including stick welding, and oversee the use of a beam line, angle line and cobot welder.
•Manage the operation of forklifts and cranes for material handling.
•Ensure use of TEKLA shop software including TEKLA GO tablets by shop personnel.
•Train team members on proper techniques for welding, fabrication, and equipment operation.
•Monitor work progress, quality control, and compliance with project specifications.
•Conduct regular inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
•Collaborate with project managers to align production schedules with project timelines.
Experience
•Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or construction environment.
•Proficiency in welding techniques, including stick welding and fabricating metal components.
•Experience with TEKLA or other industry software.
•Familiarity with operating forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery.
•Strong understanding of basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work.
•Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents effectively.
•Experience working on construction sites is preferred but not mandatory.
