Working from home, located in the US, with up to 30% travel for on-site jobs and client visits as well as occasional visits to the corporate offices in Alvin, Texas.

Job Overview

UNICAT is growing rapidly both in market share and product development. Our combined technical sales, research and development, and manufacturing teams have also been growing to meet the demand of our customers both in terms of capability and capacity. As a Senior Technical Service Engineer, you will provide senior technical support to the Sales Team and customers, focusing on catalyst applications in steam methane reforming, ammonia plants, purification and Pressure Swing Adsorption units targeting the Americas region. In this role you will support the Senior Technical Manager with complex problems, process and reaction modeling, product development projects, and technical documentation. You will work alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the industry. Our technical team takes pride in the fact that we produce superior quality products and optimized solutions, and superior customer service.

Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Duties

•

Serve as Technical Advisor supporting the Sales Team in pre- and post-sales activities

•

Provide direct technical support to customers, including troubleshooting, process optimization, and start-up assistance for steam methane reforming, ammonia, purification and PSA units.

•

Analyze plant operating data to assess catalyst performance and recommend improvements.

•

Prepare and deliver technical proposals, presentations and reports to clients and internal stakeholders.

•

Supervise catalyst loading, activation, and unit start-up at customer sites.

•

Conduct spent catalyst analysis and performance reviews to support ongoing customer relationships.

•

Develop a thorough understanding of the modelling tools for SMR, Ammonia and PSA.

•

Support the growth of the business by developing a foundational understanding of the purification business and modeling tools.

•

Develop technical presentation skills and support sales team with customer visits when appropriate.

•

Support Senior Technical Manager with product documentation requirements including product data sheets and SDS.

Qualifications

•

BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field

•

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a plant operations role or similar technical service position, ideally with exposure to steam methane reforming, ammonia, or PSA technologies.

•

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven track record in process optimization.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with commercial teams and external customers.

•

Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

•

Willingness to travel as required to support customer and business needs.

•

A strong competence in the standard Microsoft Suite of tools.

•

Knowledge of programming and additional IT skills are very favorable.

•

Experience with technical customer service is highly desirable.
