A Snapshot of Your Day

The selected candidate will review blueprints and technical drawings to understand the project requirements, prepare and set up the welding equipment, ensuring all tools are in proper working conditions to perform the job. Throughout the day, various welding techniques will be applied, frequently inspecting the work to ensure it meets quality standards and accomplishing welding related tasks that are designated to the Welder. Safety is a constant priority, so you will have to follow strict protocols to prevent incidents.


How You’ll Make An Impact

Fabrication and Assembly: Using various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welding) to fabricate and assemble structures, components, and products according to blueprints and specifications.
Inspection and Quality Control: Ensure quality standards and specifications are met by identifying and repairing defects or inconsistencies to maintain the integrity and quality requirements of the final products.
Maintenance and Repair: Support the Repair business by performing repair work on existing metal parts and equipment, ensuring their continued functionality and safety. This includes tasks such as fixing cracks, reinforcing weak points, and replacing worn-out parts.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and following proper welding procedures (WPSs).


What You Bring

Education: Must have a High School Diploma or GED that can be certified.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in welding is required; specifically, in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and plasma welding techniques, including setting up and adjusting welding machines, selecting appropriate welding rods and materials, and performing precise welds is preferred.
Blueprint Reading: Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand welding requirements and specifications.
Material Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of metals and alloys, including their properties and how they react to various welding processes.
Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of welding safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Emergency Stop Valves: Knowledge of emergency stop valves and their operation is a plus, as it enhances the welder's ability to ensure safety and respond effectively to emergency situations.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
