Position Summary: The Business Development Manager-Greater Houston/Gulf Coast Region will be instrumental in increasing the company market share, ensuring consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, and management. The individual will be qualified, ambitious, able to identify opportunities for our new tank and maintenance & repair divisions and execute action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Always represent the company with high moral standards while adhering to the company’s "Code of Business Conduct & Ethics".
•Thorough understanding of the storage tank industry, its competitors, its clients, and the areas of work and competitiveness.
•Identify and pursue new market opportunities to increase company market share in Houston and the surrounding Gulf Coast region.
•Maintain positive relationships with current clients while developing positive relationships with new and prospective clients.
•Review and negotiate Terms and Conditions with the clients to assist in closing the proposal or contract as required.
•Follow up with clients on bid status and lessons learned with the intent of solidifying contracts.
•Assist in expediting the resolution of any clients’ concerns or complaints.
•Develop new sales strategies with management to pursue additional revenue channels.
•Research market trends and follow industry publications to determine current and future markets and growth potential.
•Maintain good people skills and a positive work attitude to set a precedence of enthusiasm and energetic atmosphere.
•Maintain company developed CRM system and coordinate input of information as required from management to keep it up to date.
•Participate in trade shows and conventions (4-5 times/year).
•Job will require flexibility to frequently travel to client offices, conferences, or job sites for purposes of bid walks, sales and negotiation meetings, and relationship maintenance visits.
•Perform additional responsibilities as directed.
•This position will report to our Business Development Lead in the ATEC home office, in Baxter Springs, KS. Periodic visits to Baxter Springs may be required.
Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years' experience as a Business Development Manager in the oil and gas industry preferred.*
•Strong personnel and management skills.
•Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex commercial or technical information.
+ Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word/Outlook/Excel) and CRM systems and ability to type adequately with reliable accuracy and proper grammar.
+ Ability to multi-task, and work on multiple projects in varying stages at a time.
+ Ability to effectively work remotely.
+ Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
+ Knowledge of industry standards related to storage tank industry.
+ Knowledge of API 650, 653, AWWA and ASME codes is preferred.
+ Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
