We are a global professional construction company and bring the best quality and technical expertise in areas of Heavy Civil works and Building Construction work, including Site Development, Wet and Dry Utility Installation, Wharf improvement, and Industrial & Commercial Building works. Obayashi Corporation has an excellent career opportunity for a Construction Safety Manager to work for our Guam Projects. The successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual and will be assigned to oversee safety compliance and risk management for on-going construction projects located in Guam. The role is integral to ensuring all activities meet federal, military, and local occupational health and safety regulations, particularly EM 385-1-1 standards set by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC.

Who we are

Obayashi Corporation is the only Japanese general contractor that has been operating in the United States and Canada for a long time, notably since receiving our first tunneling project in San Francisco, CA in 1982. We currently have several tunneling projects as well as some CM/GC (Construction Manager and General Contractor) type contracts in the states. Current tunneling projects include the Big Walnut Sanitary Trunk Extension Phase 2 (OH), the Bull Run Pipeline Tunnel (OR), the Colgate Tunnel & Penstock Outage 20245 Project, and Cemetery Brook Drainage Tunnel (both in CA). Ongoing CM/GC contracts include the Silver Lake Reservoir Complex Storage Replacement Project (Phase I - III) and Yerba Buena Island Bridge Replacement Project (both in CA). We have completed many projects in the region during our 40-plus year history, including the historic Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge mentioned above. We also have two strong heavy civil contractors in our group, Kraemer North America and Kenaidan.

The Guam office has focused on federal and military construction since its launch in 2010. Our completed projects include the Guam Naval Hospital, Uniform/Tango Wharf Improvement, X-Ray Wharf Improvements Berth 1 at Naval Base Guam, Finegayan Utilities & Site Improvements at Marine Corps Base, Camp Blaz, and P-83003 Hayman Munitions Storage Igloos at Andersen Air Force Base. Our on-going projects include the P-3001 Standoff Weapons Complex, MSA2 Repair at Andersen Airforce Base, FY 21 Special Project Repair Lima Wharf, and FY23 Special Project Repair Mike & November Wharves in Naval Base Guam, the P-309 Ground Combat Element - Infantry Battalions 1 & 2 Facilities and the P-325 PDI 9th ESN Equipment and Maintenance Facility at Marine Corps Base, Camp Blaz. Obayashi was recently awarded the P696 ERCIP Inne Apra Harbor Resiliency Upgrades and P806 ERCIP Generation, Controls & Feeder Upgrades, Joint Region Marianas, Navy Base, Guam.
