We are seeking a motivated and reliable Experienced Driller’s Helper to support surface drilling operations in the exploration and mining industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in core or reverse circulation (RC) drilling and be accustomed to working in remote and challenging environments. This position requires regular travel, long hours, and strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist the Lead Driller in setting up, operating, and dismantling drill rigs and related equipment
• Handle drill rods, core samples, casing, and other materials safely and efficiently
• Maintain clean and organized work areas on-site and in vehicles
• Mix and manage drilling fluids as required
• Collect, label, and document geological samples accurately
• Follow verbal and written instructions from the Driller and Field Supervisor
• Ensure compliance with MSHA and site-specific safety procedures
• Maintain detailed field logs and complete required paperwork
• Communicate effectively with crew members and site personnel
• Work in extreme environmental conditions, including variable terrain, weather, and remote locations
• Travel frequently and stay on-site for extended periods (typically 1–3 weeks at a time)
• 1+ years of experience as a driller’s helper in mineral exploration, mining, or geotechnical drilling
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs, work long shifts, and perform physically demanding tasks
• Strong understanding of workplace safety standards (MSHA, OSHA, etc.)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to dynamic work conditions
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR required)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen (hair follicle) and criminal background check
• MSHA certification is a plus (training provided if needed)
• Schedule varies based on project requirements (typically 12-hour shifts)
• Regular travel to job sites throughout the region or nationally
• Rotational schedule may be offered (e.g., 21 days on / 7 days off)
• Lodging, transportation, and per diem provided during field assignments
